
Adjunct professors often work in solitude. Because they are only on
campus to teach their classes, have no office, and are not invited to
participate in the life of their departments, they have little opportunity to get
to know and interact with each other.
E-mail and the Internet provide a means to overcome isolation, share
information and experiences, and cooperate in the pursuit of change.
